Who needs the Thailand Digital Arrival Card?
As part of Thailand's "Smart Tourism 2026" initiative, the legacy TM6 paper card has been phased out for air travelers at major international airports. It has been replaced by the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) for all air travelers. This system is active at Bangkok (BKK & DMK), Phuket (HKT), Chiang Mai (CNX), and other international airports.
All foreign nationals entering Thailand by air must submit their arrival information, regardless of visa type:
- Visa Exemption: Tourists from 64 countries (USA, UK, EU, Australia, etc.) entering for 30-60 days.
- Visa on Arrival (VOA): Travelers eligible for VOA must still complete the TDAC.
- Long Term Visas: Holders of LTR, Elite, Education, or Retirement visas are also required to declare arrival details.
Tip: Apply in Advance
While airport kiosks exist, they often have long queues. Filing online 3 days before travel lets you use the "Fast Lane" at immigration checkpoints.
